Dr Christian JessenDr Christian graduated in 2000 from UCL, having trained in general medicine, infectious disease, travel medicine and sexual health/HIV. He has lived in Kenya and Uganda where he researched malaria and HIV interactions in children - and upon returning to London, he helped set up a private sexual health and travel clinic. He now works on Harley Street, looking after general medicine and sexual health patients. Christian is passionate about his work and is always looking for new ways to educate people in health matters, particularly through media and in tandem with health charities and other organizations. As a writer, he is medical
advisor and columnist for Closer magazine and writes
regular columns for Gay Times, Real magazine, QX and
AXM magazine, and does occasional features in Arena,
FHM and Men's Health. His first book “Supersize vs Superskinny” (Channel 4 Books 2008) accompanies his hit television series of the same name. |

As well as "Supersize vs Superskinny", Christian's other television work includes "Embarrassing Illnesses" and the subsequent "Embarrassing Bodies" specials, "Finding God" - where he looked after Jack Osborne during his travels through India (Channel 4), "Sex in Court" (E4), and he was featured in the documentary "Harley Street". He is a regular guest on "The Wright Stuff" and "Doctor, Doctor" (Five) and was recently a contestant on "Celebrity Weakest Link - 999 Special" and brought his culinary skills to "Ready Steady Cook" (BBC1). Christian was born and lives in London. He enjoys foreign travel, and music and art are both passions of his. He is an accomplished oboist, performing publicly from time to time. He also rides horses, works out and has even taken on the odd modelling job for various clothes and underwear companies. He is a member of the Garrick Club and the Royal Institution.
