Nicholas is just amazing! He was born in 1989 without his right hand and only began to play the piano at the late age of 14, having been inspired by Beethoven's Waldstein Sonata.

In 2012, Nicholas graduated from the Royal College of Music in London and has since performed at major venues around the UK and has toured internationally, as well as performing alongside Coldplay at the Closing Ceremony of the Paralympic Games, giving a rendition of the Paralympic anthem to an audience of 86,000 and half a billion people worldwide.

Nicholas is a champion of the dynamic and brave world of left hand alone repertoire, a repertoire that first came into being in the early 19th Century and developed rapidly following the First World War as a result of the many injuries suffered on the Battlefield. Paul Wittgenstein was responsible for its 20th Century developments with his commissions with Ravel, Prokofiev and Benjamin Britten amongst others.

Nicholas is liked by the national and international press and he regularly gives live performances and interviews on television and radio, where he has been featured in a couple of documentaries and in 2014, he presented two prestigious BBC Proms and, in 2015, he presented the Leeds International Piano Competition for BBC Four.

Nicholas is also an inspirational and engaging speaker, having given a TED Talk at The Royal Albert Hall and now he regularly gives talks to a wide range of businesses and companies, as well as for schools and charities. He is Patron of EDRIC (European Dysmelia Reference Information Centre), Carers Gloucestershire, Create ,The Towersey Foundation and he is an ambassador of The One Handed Musicians Trust (OHMI) and Nordoff Robbins who are changing lives through music.
